Events in Budleigh Salterton
Budleigh Salterton and the surrounding area is set for an entertaining Christmas period, full of productions, carols and charity events.
St Peter’s Church will, naturally, be a centre of attention in the festive season.
December 7 sees a ‘tree of light’ service at the church at 7pm, before the Lions Club concert (7.30pm). The Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir will perform at the concert. Tickets are priced at only £5.
The Hospiscare concert is at the church on December 16. The St David’s Singers will be top of the bill, with mince pies and mulled wine served from 6.30pm, before the concert at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6.
The Salterton Youth Theatre will be busy in December, with their production of Witches by Roald Dahl at the Drama Playhouse on December 14, 15 and 16 at 7.30pm. Tickets go on
sale from the Tourist Information Centre (01395 445275) on November 27.

St Peter’s School have a number of events leading up to Christmas.
Their nativity and carol singing service is at St Peter’s Church on December 12.
The school’s parent-teacher association (PTA) has a Christmas fayre on December 8, at 4.30pm.
The PTA’s Christmas bingo night is on December 13 at 6.45pm in the Public Hall.
East Budleigh
East Budleigh Men’s Club are holding their Christmas bingo on November 25 at East Budleigh Village Hall. Eyes down at 7.30pm with prizes of all the usual Christmas goodies
Salem Chapel in East Budleigh has a Christmas service at 4pm on December 17.
Otterton
Otterton will be breaking the feasting tradition with a fitness event on December 9. Returning for a second year will be the popular Reindeer Run, a 10k jog around the village in fancy dress, starting at 10am. To enter, register at www.sidmouthrunningclub.org
Otterton C of E Primary School’s Christmas play will be staged in Otterton Church at 1.30pm on December 14.
And for all you hardy souls out there, if all the eating and drinking has taken its toll, the regular refreshing Budleigh Christmas Day swim will perk up the party season.
