Honiton’s carefully preserved High Street has something for everyone this Christmas.
With its carefully preserved High Street and vast array of small, independent shops, Honiton has successfully carved out a niche for itself as an interesting, vibrant shopping centre.
Forget the faceless blandness of bigger shopping centres this Christmas and sample a touch of friendly, personal service in a town full of character.
From top to bottom, Honiton High Street boasts something for everyone - from exclusive boutiques and antique centres to delicatessens and gift shops.
Honiton Town Council is generously organising this year's festive lights, in co-operation with Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In recent years, the lights have been improved, with a uniform look to avoid the garishness of multi-coloured lights.
A Christmas tree will again be a feature outside St Paul's Church, in the heart of Honiton.
Although there is no late night shopping events in Honiton this year, individual traders will be doing their own thing. Check in store for latest information.
Honiton has boasted a street market for 749 years. It takes place every Tuesday and Saturday. On the third Thursday of each month, there is also a farmers' market.
As well as the High Street itself, Honiton offers Lace Walk shopping centre, Black Lion Court and Dorset Place.
And don't forget New Street, which is crammed with independent shops, selling everything from mobile phones to GHD hair straightners!
