Festive Events in the parishes

Christmas in the parishes of Lympstone, Woodbury and Woodbury Salterton sees village communities come together for song and cheer.

Woodbury Salterton School’s Nativity Play is being held in Woodbury Salterton Church on Friday, December 15, at 2pm. The reception class will be performing while the rest of the school sings.

Woodbury Primary School’s Nativity Play is on Friday, December 15, at 6pm in St Swithun’s Church. The children will be performing the play entitled “It’s A Baby”.

The Woodbury PTFA Christmas Fayre will be held at the school hall between 1-4pm on December 16.

Carol singing in Woodbury is a must for all the family, with three evenings dedicated to Christmas melodies. Carols on the Green begins at 7.15pm on December 17, while carol-singing tours of the village take place at 7pm on December 19 and 21, meeting at The Arch.

A sale of ‘all things Christmas’ to be held at Bailey House on Broadway, opposite the Post Office, at 11am to 2pm on December 9.

Lympstone residents will be treated to special Christmas concerts in the first week of December.

On December 2 Lympstone Entertainments will hold their second annual village concert, at 7.30pm at the Village Hall. The variety show will see performances from sketch writers, dancers, folk singers and even a bagpipe player. Tickets priced £5.

The Lympstone Shop Supporters Club holds its festive party on December 4.

A carol night at the Redwing Inn will raise money for the RNLI on December 17.

The Lympstone Society and Lympstone band stage their Christmas Concert at the Church on December 8. A mixture of traditional carols, songs and band performances will get visitors in the Christmas spirit.

Lympstone Primary School’s Christmas production and carol singing service takes place at 6pm, on Wednesday, December 13, at the village Church.
