The Ottery carnival comes to town.

This year’s spectacular Ottery carnival took place on Friday, 26 October. As always the tar barrel committee led the procession with their flaming barrel held aloft and a Guy Fawkes effigy ready to be placed on the bonfire. Ottery’s Carnival Queen, Jess Batten-Stevens, also headed the parade along with her princesses Cerys Hiscocks, Paige Harding-Shepphard and Rosa Batten-Stevens. Get your copy of the Sidmouth Herald carnival spread in this week’s paper.

The Carnival marks the lead up to the annual tar barrels celebration which takes place on Monday, November 5. Look out for our special tar barrel souvenir supplement in next Friday’s Sidmouth Herald.
