AN Ashcott man has pleaded guilty to a racially aggravated offence in an Indian restaurant in Cornwall.
At a court appearance, Ashley Raymond John Starling, 34, of Pedwell Lane, admitted using racially aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe immediate violence would be used.
A hearing at Bodmin Magistrates' Court was told he also damaged a large glass window valued at under £5,000 during the incident at the Chennai Restaurant in East Looe on July 17, 2021.
He denied a third count of racially aggravated criminal damage.
Starling, whose address at a previous court hearing was given as Lymebourne Park, Sidmouth, will be sentenced by a judge at Truro Crown Court for the two charges he has admitted on Friday, September 15.
