A Sidmouth music festival has applied for a new premises license for next year.
Sidmouth Jazz & Blues Festival Ltd made the application to hold its 2024 festival at Blackmore Gardens in Devon from May 23 to May 27.
It has also asked past festival-goers to fill in a short online survey.
In a Facebook post, the organisers said: “The third Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival takes place from Thursday 23 to Monday 27 May 2024.
”To help us shape the programme we want to hear from you. Please take a minute of your time to complete this short survey. Thank you!”
Alongside providing music entertainment from 6pm to 10.30pm on May 23 and 24 and from 10am to 10.30pm on May 25 to 27, the festival is also seeking permission to supply alcohol from 6pm to 10.30pm on the earlier dates, and from 12pm to 10.30pm on the later.
The public has been encouraged to provide their representations by writing to The Licensing Manager, East Devon District Council by December 15.
The detailed proposals are outlined in a listing on the Public Notice Portal.
Facebook commentators expressed excitement about the event.
One user wrote: "We saw Vince Lee and The Big Combo in one of the Sidmouth pubs and they were superb so would be great for the main stage."
Another wrote: "A superb addition to the cultural life of the town. More power to you."
One commenter said: "Can you please book Snowboy and The Latin Section", with the sentiment echoed by another, who requested: "Slinky Machine again, please".
