Police appeal for witnesses after fatal collision on the B3261 near Bow Bridge

Police are appealing for information regarding yesterday’s (Wednesday, March 19) two car collision at Axminster which claimed the life of a 45-year-old local woman.

The victim was the driver and sole occupant of a silver Ford Focus which was in collision with a Toyota Rav4 whose 56-year-old driver was taken to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital where police yesterday described her condition as critical. She was also alone in her vehicle.

Two air ambulances were called to the scene on the B3261 - Trafalgar Way, near Bow Bridge - at around 8am. Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have seen the Focus and the Rav4 being driven before the incident. They are asked to contact them on 101, quoting log number 84 of 190314.
