The year 13 class put together the eating experience as part of their catering and hospitality A-level, and raised £125 for Devon Air Ambulance in the process.

They were assisted by a year 12 class to get experience for next year, and Katrina and John Lort, who handed over The Loft’s kitchens and facilities for the evening.

Hospitality and catering teacher Alison Kirsch said: “The evening was a huge success and we had very positive feedback from all guests and from The Loft owners.

“I’m extremely proud of all of the students – they worked really hard and it certainly paid off.
