GOOD causes will benefit from £886 raised through Easter draws staged by Sidmouth Lions Club.

The grand total was announced this week after draws took place at five venues.

Club members have thanked proprietors at five businesses for their help and support in selling draw tickets.

The Anchor Inn and Dukes in Sidmouth, Sidford’s the Blue Ball, the Bowd Inn and the Golden Lion, in Tipton St John were all praised – as were the generous general public.

Lions purchased the top-class prizes from Emily’s Chocolates in Sidmouth.

Some prize winners asked for their prizes to go to charity and one was presented to The Donkey Sanctuary’s assisted therapy centre on Saturday.

The bunny was smashed by youngsters and the pieces of chocolate were then distributed.

Another was gifted to the Woolbrook-based St Francis Parent and Toddler Group on Monday - and tots had a smashing time tucking in.
