"Sidmouth invaded by... what?"

"Sidmouth invaded by... what?"

A Sidmouth Herald story about an invasion of onions was subject of stinging satire that brought a tear to the eye.

The missing words round saw the ‘Have I Got News for You’ panellists guess what was targeting the town.

Hosted on Friday by Jeremy Clarkson, Sunday Times journalist Camilla Long pitched ‘Russians’, while team captain Paul Merton suggested everything from moths to Methodists.

The episode also featured the BBC show’s regular Ian Hislop and comedian Henning Wehn.
