Nick Baker, former presenter of the popular BBC series The Really Wild Show, gave the presentation as part of National Science and Engineering Week.

As well as hearing fascinating facts, students were able to handle hissing cockroaches, African land snails and a number of different species of stick insects.

Key Stage four science coordinator Rebecca Higginson said: “In the evening students, parents and members of the local community enjoyed Nick Baker waxing lyrical about his love of bugs, his talk was engaging, informative and at times hilarious!

“We are very lucky to have him give so much of his time and knowledge to help us with our national science and engineering week celebrations.”
