Severe flood warnings for the East Devon coast have been removed by the Environment Agency, with the worst of the stormy weather thought to have passed.

The agency says that with the peak of spring tides and the tidal surge has passed, there is no longer such a risk.

However, tides remain high, and the agency says it will issue a further flood alert for tides this evening (Friday), and Saturday morning.

Members of the public should continue to avoid areas where there are large waves.
