NEIGHBOURHOOD FEEDBACK: Sidbury is having a neighbourhood assessment next Friday (March 1) as East Devon District Council finds out what matters to residents.

Villagers can discuss concerns with environmental health officers and the police on matters including dog fouling, noise, recycling and housing.

There will be a drop-in session at the village hall from 10.30am until 3.30pm, and a door-to-door survey for those unable to attend.

-----

LADIES’ PRAYER: The Women’s World Day of Prayer is being marked at St Luke’s church in Newton Poppleford on Friday, March 1.

Speaker Ruth Edmonds will lead the service, under the title ‘I was a stranger and you welcomed me’ from 6.30pm.

The same event, which aims to create a network of Christian women on a global and a local scale, will be celebrated at St Francis Church in Sidmouth, when Julie Wheeler will lead the discussion from 10.30am.

All are welcome to both events.

Two engines attended the Kingswood and Devoran when oil leaked from a faulty lift onto hot pipes, and the fumes caused the smoke alarm to go off.
