Rain clouds stayed away from Blackmore Gardens as scores of people enjoyed a wide range of stalls with food craft items on offer.

Children were entertained with skittles, football, wheelbarrow racing, Punch and Judy, and a bouncy castle.

Llamas from Peak Hill also proved a hit.

Mike Wale, President of the Sid Valley Rotary Club, said: “We’re pleased at the wonderful weather, grateful to the many people who came, and for the many compliments they have given us.

“We are also grateful to the many local businesses that have sponsored us very generously.

“It’s too early to know what the profit for the day will be, but the majority will go to our local cancer charity Force.”
