A LATE much-loved mum and talented singer will be remembered during a night of musical entertainment that will raise cash for a cancer charity.
The variety show starring a host of local talent will take place on Friday, March 1, in honour of Sally Roberts.
Sally, 52, died from cancer last year and her son Joe and friends have organised the event at the Manor Pavilion in her honour to raise money for Force.
It will feature choirs from St Peter’s, Budleigh, where Sally was headteacher, and St John’s School, in Sidmouth.
Talented young performers known to audiences through their work with Sidmouth Youth Theatre, Finch School of Dancing and Sidmouth Ballet School will also take part.
“Sally was a talented singer herself and encouraged young people with whom she came into contact through her work in schools and her family life to explore their talent as performers,” said her husband of nearly 30 years, Jeremy.
“She would be delighted by the notion of her memory inspiring young people to use their talent to entertain and also to raise funds for such a great local cause.”
The Sid Valley’s Rally for Sally last year raised £7,000 for Force and Children’s Hospice South West.
Tickets (£8 for adults and £6 for children) are available from the Manor Pavilion box office on 01395 514413.
