SIDMOUTH Amateur Dramatic Society (SADS) have a naked ambition for the show to be a hit with audiences – and boost a charity.
Tickets for the production, directed by Joan Heard, went on sale on Friday, August 16.
Members of a 14-strong cast in rehearsal for a five night stint at the Manor Pavilion Theatre from October 1 to 5.
Calendar Girls is only on release to amateur companies until February 14, 2014 - and there is a nationwide challenge to get into the Guinness Book of Records with a number of performances of a play in a calendar year.
The SADS show promises to be funny, poignant and entertaining.
It is based on the true story of six extraordinary women from an ordinary Yorkshire WI who set out to raise money for a sofa for their local hospital and to date have raised more than £3million for leukaemia and lymphoma research.
SADS will be making a donation to Exeter Leukaemia Fund.
Tickets (£10 or £5 for under 16s) are available from the Manor Pavilion Box Office.
