Surplus items donated for victims of the Salisbury Road fire are to be sole in aid of the victims’ fund.
The items were donated by residents in a spontaneous aid effort last December, after a fire swept through the Colony and left a number of residents homeless.
With the residents’ immediate needs catered for, the remaining donations are being sold so that, when the victims are permanently re-housed, there is money available to redecorate homes and buy any furniture they might need.
The sale takes place, weather permitting, this Sunday at 11am, in the garden of 43 Nelson Drive.
Around half a container’s-worth of goods will be available, including clothes, toys and furniture.
