A community group is being set up in Woodbury to help deter speeding drivers.
Over recent months police have been carrying out patrols in the village with a speed indication device, which notifies motorists of the speeds they are travelling. Several drivers were found to be breaking the speed limit, both on Broadway towards Woodbury Common and the village, and on the B3179 towards Clyst St George.
Now a rural Community Speed Watch programme has been set up, to be manned by local residents.
It is currently in training, but will soon be operational. Any other residents interested in joining are asked to contact Police Community Support Officer Donna Baker on 08456 569412.
