Misty grey skies failed to dampen the spirits of visitors at The Donkey Sanctuary’s smashing summer festival.

More than 600 visitors turned out to enjoy Donkeys in the Park, which took place last Saturday (June 16). The day featured a host of activities, including everything from family zumba and yoga, bouncy castles, face painting, crafts and storytelling to meet and greets with some of the adorable resident donkeys.

Live bands, including Clara Bond, Jabbrock and Basher Tate also provided a feel-good soundtrack throughout the day. Youngsters also had a whale of a time watching the live theatre performances by Boo to a Goose Theatre Productions, who brought life to the story of ‘The Magic Garden’ using puppets, music and games.

John Crouch, visitor engagement manager, said: “The mini festival vibe and feel-good factor chased away the clouds and thanks to some stellar sets by the bands all had a fine time.”
