The groups that helped out at this year’s Sidford fete had their efforts rewarded with a share of the £1,800 it raised.

Sid Vale Athletics shared the spoils of the ‘lovely’ day with the 1st Sid Vale Scouts, Sid Vale Carnival Club, Sidmouth Lions Club, Sidford Women’s Institute, Sidmouth Running Club, Sidford and Sidbury’s football clubs and St John’s Ambulance.

Group secretary Marion Perry thanked local sponsors Castle Plant, Bradfords and Delves Electrical of Honiton.

She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who attended and those who helped, in particular Andy Welch, who organised a ‘very successful’ five-a-side football tournament.

Any groups that want to help out and benefit from next year’s event can contact Marion on 01395 514244.
