Crowds are invited to gather in Sidmouth Parish Church churchyard to remember those lost during World War One.

This year marks exactly 100 years since the cease fire between the two forces and the focus of the remembrance will be around the war memorial.

In previous years, representatives of the church were invited to attend a ceremony after the act of remembrance but the church has decided to open its doors to all and not hold a service.

If anyone wants to stay after the ceremony, they are invited into the church to have a coffee, meet friends see the display on Sidmouth’s role in the Great War and to remember those who suffered.

Those who wish to plant a cross in the garden of remembrance will be able to do so after the act of remembrance.

The start time for the remembrance is 11am on November 11 in Sidmouth Parish Church churchyard.
