A supermarket giant is preparing to close its Sidmouth store for one month, while the shop undergoes a major refurbishment.

Tesco Express, located on the High Street next to Baraza Coffee House and the Post Office, will close its doors next Sunday (November 4).

But it will be reopen in time for the start of the Christmas season.

When the works have been completed, the shop’s staff are planning to hold a special reopening event to reveal the changes within the refurbished store.

The scheduled reopening date is penned in for Wednesday, December 5, but this could be subject to change.

It is not yet know how much money is being invested in the refurbishment.
