SIR - The writer of the letter in the Herald last week is possibly right, when he said that taking the upper part of the cliff back at an angle of about 45 degrees might well stop future falls, as it has done near Jacob’s Ladder.
However, has he considered the fact that to do this, is likely to mean that the householders at the cliff top might have to sacrifice quite a length of their gardens.
Would they be willing to DONATE this ground, so that the work could be carried out?
