Slade Centre's 30th anniversary

THE purpose built facilities of the Elisabeth Svendson Trust’s Slade Centre were put on show recently, when the doors were opened for a 30th anniversary party.

The centre’s staff and users, who come from across Devon and Dorset, were celebrating 30 years since the building’s foundation stone was laid.

Centre principal Lauriel Harris said: “It was very successful, we were open to the public all afternoon and there was lots of entertainment.”

She said children who visited had their faces painted and there was also the chance for people to have cart rides around the centre’s grounds.

There was also a riding demonstration to give visitors an idea of the standards achieved and of the work which had been done.
