Exeter Chiefs booked a home tie against Montpellier in the last 16 of the Heineken Champions Cup after a ruthless 40-3 victory over Castres ensured Rob Baxter’s side finished as second seeds in Pool A.

Montpellier will visit Sandy Park on the first weekend of April and the Chiefs will take comfort and confidence from a 42-6 win over Montpellier on home turf last season, although they lost the corresponding fixture in France, 37-26.

The full draw: Leinster v Ulster, Chiefs v Montpellier, Cell C Sharks v Munster, Saracens v Ospreys, Leicester Tigers v Edinburgh, DHL Stormers v Harlequins, Toulouse v Vodacom Bulls, La Rochelle v Gloucester.

If the Chiefs are successful in defeating Montpellier, the quarter-final draw has handed them another home tie against the winners from the Bulls v Harlequins tie. One thing is guaranteed, the atmosphere at Sandy Park will be electric.
