Sidmouth ladies’ win well against Yelampton in Interclub fixture.

Sidmouth ladies’ had a resounding result playing in the Interclub preliminary round match versus Yealmpton, which was hosted by Bovey Tracey Bowls Club, writes Susie Bonnell.

The weather conditions were fantastic and both Sidmouth’s teams established a good lead, going on to win 31-9 (Pat Ashton-Pritchard, Zena Johnson and ladies’ captain Valerie Newnham, with skip, Jill Bishop) and 23-16 ( Jean Brimson, Paddy Wrench and Jane Painter with skip, Eileen Hewett).

So it’s onwards and upwards for Sidmouth, with the next Interclub match on Wednesday May 28, versus St. Thomas - venue to be announced.
