The prize for the Lombard Trophy on Saturday was to partner club pro Ben Thorn in the PGA Prom-Am Regional Finals at Burnham and Berrow where the winners go on to play at Gleneagles, writes Chris Roberts.

The format for the day was stroke play medal off white tees which always has a strange affect on most armature golfers!

With 50 players taking to the course to try and secure the prize Chris Lewis put together a great net score of 64 and lowest gross of 70, to secure victory.

Paddy ‘the plumber’ Tallon took second spot with a net 65.

Third spot was settled on countback with John Emmott edging out Paul Hitchcock after both finished with a net 66.
