Sidbury cricketers all set to remember David Coles in Sunday’s Memorial match

PUBLISHED: 20:32 04 September 2014 | UPDATED: 20:32 04 September 2014

A memorial cricket match to remember David Coles will be held at Sidbury on Saturday (September 6), writes Andy Webb.

David, affectionately known as ‘Rambo’ was a key player at Sidbury some 20 years ago and was a formidable bowler with a run up that started at the boundary border!

Many of his former team mates will make up a team, Sidbury Past Players XI who will take on the current Sidbury XI.

The match is being played at the Mill Field, Sidbury, with a 2pm start. When the game is finished a barbecue will sizzle away.

There will also be an auction of memorabilia with proceeds to The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton where David received such wonderful care during his battle against illness.

David’s mother has donated a challenge cup and it is hoped to make this an annual event.
