Another Met Office gliding evening at North Hill this year enjoyed good weather for gliding and a barbeque, writes Jill Harmer.
With several members of the Devon and Somerset Gliding Club being employees or retired from the Met Office, there was a good turnout this week for a trial lesson evening, and the weather was forecast to cooperate.
Heating engineer Mike King from Totnes made his first solo flight at the weekend, and on his second solo he enjoyed local soaring for 20 minutes.
