Over the last two months, the Ladies Summer Hockey League has been played involving ten teams competing in two pools, writes Fiona Moran.
The winners and runners of the respective pools took up the four semi-final berths.
The first semi-final saw Exe defeat White Eagles whilst the second last four tie saw Exeter/Vale Hornets defeat Isca in a close contest that went to flicks!
The final last proved to be another hard fought encounter with Exe scoring in the first half through a penalty flick from Bridget Culver. In the second half the play was just as close, but Exe increased their lead further with goals from Laura Allen and Payno to lift the shield which was presented by Exe club chairman Jane Bailey.
