The Famous Easterbrooks took place at Sidmouth last Saturday in blustery conditions, writes Chris Roberts

The format for the day was stableford off white tees, three-quarter handicap with two scores to count which offered the chance for good scores to and the day also included longest drive on the eighth and nearest the pin on the 12th.

Ultimately the winners won by a very large margin with all the teams except one struggling with the weather!

Kevin Legg, Ernie McMath and Roy Turner carded a very strong 80 points to easily take the victory by a dozen points from the rest of the field.

John Jones, George Barber and Chris (over golfed) Roberts clinched second spot on countback with 68 points even starting the first three holes as a pair as barber was still getting his beauty sleep!

In third, also on 68 points were the team of Dave Hoare, Lee Wenham and John Rocky.

The longest drive and nearest the pin went to same player, David Burgess who must be questioning the contribution of his playing partners!
