Archant

It was a disappointing start for East Devon sides on the opening day of the new South West Peninsula League football season.

All four of the East Devon teams were beaten!

Budleigh Salterton suffered the heaviest defeat, going down 5-1 at home to newboys Brixham Villa in the Eastern Division. In the same section Sidmouth Town lost 4-2 at home to Plymstock United and Axminster Town were edged out by the odd goal in three at Teignmouth Town.

There was disappointment too for Exmouth Town as they were beaten 4-0 at St Austell in their opening Premier Division game.
