Tom Hayes has been crowned the Ottery St Mary ‘Player of the Month’ for December.

The award is decided by votes cast by players at the club and defender Hayes came top of the festive month’s poll.

Otters boss Dave Fairweather said: “It’s a deserved award for Tom. During the month he moved from his regular berth at right back into a more detailed defensive role of being the right-hand-side player in a back three and he has excelled since making the switch.”

Like many of his Ottery teammates, Hayes has individual player sponsorship and in his case it comes in the form of ‘football buddy’.

There are still various sponsorship packages available at Ottery and the point of contact is Ottery chairman Mike Ringer, who can be found via email at mike.ringer@otterystmaryafc.co.uk or via the Ottery AFC Facebook page.
