Sidmouth Raiders and Warriors Under-10s met for their in-house derby and fittingly, honours ended even, writes Alan Hallett..
The Raiders dug deep to emerge with a share of the spoils.
Will Bond in goal and Toby Whitfield, were the most notable of the outstanding defensive performances as the Warriors pinned the Raiders back.
CJ Abbot did force a great save out of the Warriors keeper with a low left foot drive, but it was at the other end all the action took place.
The Raiders then took on Lympstone and were desperately unlucky to lose a game they dominated throughout.
CJ Abbot and Thomas Rowan both forced good saves from the Lympstone goalkeeper before Lympstone took a first half lead with a breakaway goal.
The Raiders response was first class. Samuel Burhop superbly won the ball in the air only to see his header crash against the bar and then Lewis Rowden and Abbot both saw shots go just wide.
The second half produced more of the same; Robbie Hallett’s half volley smacking against a post, Eddie Rudolph almost scoring while on the ground, trying to hook the ball over the line and Abbot went close again, this time with a header.
