Lynch nets first Sidmouth Raiders Under-8 goal

Sidmouth Raiders and Warriors Under-8s were involved in Exeter and District Youth League matches against West Hill and Honiton, writes Keith Pulman.

There was an unusual feature about then morning’s matches – they were played in sunshine! This made a change after all the recent wet weather!

The Warriors endured contrasting fortunes. First up against Honiton, in a hard fought game Jamie Pitter demonstrated some excellent ball skills and worked tirelessly for the team.

In their second match against West Hill an improved Warriors team performed superbly with the stand-out player being Thomas Fletcher whose movement was very good and he also scored a serious contender for goal of the season, running from the half way line through a packed defence before finding the back of the net.

Raiders began with a game against West Hill which was a close competitive match with the Raiders playing in a new formation. The whole team delivered the goods as Dean Lynch scored his first club goal and Tom Cload picked up the Man of the Match award.

Next up were Honiton with the Raiders getting off to a flying start with birthday boy Toby Brewster running all over the pitch putting in a great performance.

However, as the match progressed the Raiders tired against a very strong Honiton team. With a good all round performance from all players we are looking forward to our away games next week in Exeter.
