It was as you were in division one this week with the top two sides recording wins big enough to deny their opponents a point, writes Graham Ingram.
OPG held on to the top spot thanks to a 46-20 win over Signs South West. With Tracy Moran calling the plays from the centre berth OPG controlled proceedings throughout. Poppy Williams had a fine game at centre the beaten side.
Flamingos were up against Uplowman who have now gone four games without a win, and this time did not even have the consolation of picking up a point for their efforts!
Gina Thompson had a fine game for Flamingos in their 46-16 triumph whilst once again Viv Grant was the star player for Uplowman.
The two promoted sides Hi Q and Sidmouth Toucans met and Hi Q emerged 42-26 victors. Bev Parris was in good form for Hi Q who led 24-12 at half-time. In the third period Caroline Biggs got Toucans moving and they outscored Hi Q to start the final quarter just 20-29 adrift.
In Division Two just two points separate the top four sides and no side is now unbeaten in the section.
Both Tip Top Trees and Pixies started the evening with three wins from three games, but both suffered defeats!
Tip Top Trees went down 44-26 to JD Tyres for whom Tanya Broom impressed. Although the young Trees side contributed much, especially Molly Simpson, they were being outscored by JD Tyres in each quarter, but they had the consolation of banking the single point that keeps them top.
Pixies unbeaten run came to an end when they met Howden Hawks who were victors by 26-11 thanks to good play from Zoe Dunn. Pixies have the best defence in the division but even the good play of Anna Benson was enough to give them victory this time.
The final game of the evening was between Otter Valley Dairy and newcomers Blackdown Ladies, with both sides looking for their first win. In a close but low scoring game it was OVD who picked up the three points with the Ladies once again having to make do with a single point for their efforts. For the third time this season the Blackdown player of the match was Nicki Snell whilst Pippa Wyatt picked up the honour for OVD from their 16-12 win.
