Ottery St Mary bowler Terry House continues his fine form

Terry House continued his run of success with a thrilling win at Honiton, writes Michael Smith.
Playing in a ‘Champion of Champions’ match at Honiton he overcame Liam Crawford in a mighty close encounter that ended 21-20 in his favour.
There was more action for House when he faced a Devon County Section Three 2-woods match against another Ottery player Brian Light. House was successful after another close match, winning 12-10 to book a final berth against Tony Broughton.
The House form continued as he claimed a superb 18-6 victory and now he plays in the last 16 of the county at Tiverton West End on July 8.
Meanwhile in Ottery club action the men’s over-60s A team continued their successful run , beating previously undefeated Marina B on both rinks, with John Ward, Peter Jones and skip Mike Smith winning 21-9 . The B Team also picked up another six points with an overall win at Phear Park B. The C Team continue to struggle to find their first win, but are getting closer with their latest outing resulting in a narrow defeat to Madeira D!
In the Ladies NBTL, Ottery again had success with a good win over Phear Park ladies winning on both rinks.
However, there were mixed fortunes in a couple of friendly fixtures, with a good win over Lyme Regis 86-74, the best winning rink of Richard Chapple. Ann Howells and skip Shirley Fewtrell 24-12 before, on a visit to Chudleigh, Ottery were well beaten on all four rinks losing 57-92.
