Last Saturday, while there was no bowling as such, there was plenty of fun to be had at Sidmouth Bowls Club for it was the annual Christmas Social, writes Carol Smith.

There was great support for the event, with over 50 members attending, most dressed, of course, for the occasion and there was certainly plenty of fun and laughter!

Many thanks are due to those volunteers who gave their time to make sure it was such a fun event for one and all; thanks then to Wendy and Mick for the bingo and to Rob on his guitar for a sing-along of Christmas carols. Talking of carols - Carol Timms won more lines on the bingo than anyone could believe! She was almost banned from playing!

Also a huge thanks to the kitchen volunteers for our lovely nibbles - Jill, Paddy, Peter, Launa, and Maureen.
