Sidmouth ladies over-50s’ blue team were overall winners when they hosted Pinces Gardens from Exeter, writes Susie Bonnell.

Mary Smith and Phyl Nobbs, with skip Eileen Hewett, had a solid 26-13 win.

Pat Ashton-Pritchard, Zena Johnson and skip Chris Hamer were engaged in a close contest that saw them ultimately edged out by just two shots at 14-13.

Despite the defeat the effort the ladies put in – they were only beaten on the final end – aided the cause to allow Sidmouth to bank four points from the match with the final score being 39-28 in Sidmouth’s favour.
