On Saturday players taking part in the Deane Stanley medal at Sidmouth were the first to experience the new elevated tee on the 16th, writes Chris Roberts
The Division One medal was taken by a sublime round of golf by the inform John Jones with a gross score of one under par 65, this the lowest gross carded, resulting in a net 62.
Second place was taken by club manager Jonathan Lee with a net 65 seeing his handicap cut from five to four.
Spencer Jarrett took third spot with his net 66.
Carl Sheenan was victorious in Division Two with a net 66 beating Eric McMath into second place on countback.
Mr Golf, Craig Melluish, pinched third on countback from Tony Crow even with a seven on the par three twelth.
John Game carded the lowest gross in Division Two with a score of 79 net 68.
The Division Three winning score was by Sean Murphy with a net 70 beating Dieter Ritz on countback after both players carded a score of 90 and Murphy also card the lowest gross.
With Sean being a social playing member Dieter can take some comfort that he will receive the medal at the presentation if not the first spot on the day!
Jeremy Russell grabbed the thirrd spot with a net 72.
