Despite losing the opening game when Mark Thomas lost convincingly, Sidmouth recovered with wins for both Duncan Taylor and David Pepperell to take a slender lead.

Willard White then lost a close encounter leaving the team captain, Jonathan Lee to seal the win in the most unlikely fashion.

Lee did so with a magnificent 62-yard pitch to the 17th green!
