It’s tight at the top of the latest standings in the Charles Stanley Monday Stableford series, writes Chris Roberts.

Just three points separated the first eleven players and the winner was determined by countback.

Mark Laird got the nod over Duncan Taylor, Lewis White and Brian Cole with all four players carding scores of 39 points.

The Laird win arrived by virtue of his impressive back nine that saw him tuck away a brace of birdies.

Taylor eagled the 13th and then birdied the 18th and so was shocked to have to settle for second place!

Lewis had just the four birdies in his round including a two on the fourth.

Martyn White leads the Eclectic by one point from Duncan Taylor with Mark Thomas a further point back.

The birdie table is led by Neil Holland who has now stretched his advantage to lead by four over then rest of the field.
