Former Sidmouth veterans captain John Bainbridge triumphed at the spring meeting of the Devon Veterans Captains spring meeting, writes Chris Grubb.

A field of 90 past veterans’ captains from all over Devon assembled for the event held at Stover Golf Club, Newton Abbott and John obviously enjoyed his first visit to Stover!

He led the field with a score of 39 points and winning the event.

His success meant he lifted the Alan Durston Memorial Trophy.
