Archant

Sidmouth sent a team of triples to join in the Budleigh Salterton Club Invitation Day, writes Susie Bonnell.

This followed normal lines, with each visiting team playing against a Budleigh triple for four ends, then moving on to the next rink.

The Sidmouth team - skip Josie Harrison, Susie Bonnell and Ann Capon - were a bit despondent with a score of minus nine as the call for tea was rang.

Maybe it was the delicious cream tea that did the trick, but the Sidmouth ladies went back out revived and bowling well.

It certainly proved to be an X-Factor winning moment, when, much to their surprise, it was announced that Sidmouth were the winners!

The team were elated to take the trophy shield back to Sidmouth and grateful to the lovely Budleigh ladies who made everyone so welcome.
