There’s some top-notch jazz coming up this Saturday at Clyst St Mary, near Exeter.

The Clarinet Maestros – comprising renowned American clarinet ace Ken Peplowski and Europe’s foremost jazz clarinettist Julian Marc Stringle – are performing with British Jazz Award-winning pianist Craig Milverton’s trio.

The musicians will be presenting an ‘exciting and refreshing’ programme of sparkling swing, unforgettable ballads and melodies by great British and American tunesmiths, including Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Gershwin, Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen, Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.

Craig Milverton – who is recognised as Britain’s Oscar Peterson – has Sandy Suchodolski on bass and Nick Milward on drums.

The concert is at Clyst St Mary Village Hall, Exeter, EX5 1AA, at 8pm on Saturday, October 7.
