Sir Neville Mariner to open Christmas Fayre in Axminster.

World famous conductor, Sir Neville Mariner, will open the Axminster Hospital League of Friends Christmas Fayre at the hospital.

It is due to take place on Saturday, December 1, at 10.30am.

It promises to be a fun morning with stalls, music, cakes and coffee all available.

Raffle prizes include £60 paint-ball sessions for up to 10 people.

A spokesman said: “Please come and give your support to this wonderful community hospital.

“Donations of cakes, decorations, bric-a-brac, although no jumble please, would be most welcome and can be left at the hospital on the morning of the sale or contact 01460 220025 or 01297 35592 to arrange collection.”

A cappella group Voces 8 gave a magical Christmas candlelit concert at Budleigh Salterton's St Peter’s Church.

From the moment when the strains of Once in Royal David’s City soared into the hushed and darkened church and the singers of Voces8 proceeded down the aisle bearing lighted candles, it was clear that Budleigh Music Festival’s Carols by Candlelight concert was a very special occasion indeed.
