NEWS that professional ballet is coming to Sidmouth in April has prompted a rush for tickets, making it a sell-out.

After being announced in last week’s Sidmouth Herald that Ballet Theatre UK will perform Sleeping Beauty on April 16, more than 100 tickets were sold in just 24 hours.

This has broken all box office records, says theatre manager Graham Whitlock, who said never before had any other production sold so fast and so much in advance.

He said: “We always thought it would be popular, but we have been totally amazed at just how fast tickets have sold.”
