The Sidmouth Repair Café had a stand at the Sea Fest last weekend as part of the festival's overall theme of Driftwood and Thrift, with an emphasis on creative re-using and recycling.

The even on Saturday, May 20, organised by the Sidmouth Coastal Community Hub and centred around the Ham, drew large crowds of people.

The Repair Cafe team chatted with visitors to the stall about what they do at the monthly sessions, from mending hoovers and fixing leaky teapots to sewing up torn teddy bears.

Team member Angie Carney said: “We had a great day at the Sidmouth Sea Fest. Lots of good conversations - a couple of sewing repairs - and lots of lovely shade under the Salvation Army gazebo!”

The team of fixers will be at the Youth Centre on Manstone Lane this coming Saturday (May 27) between 10am and 1pm to try their hands at fixing almost any household item brought in.

Refreshments are available and donations welcome.
