A BT phone line issue has meant that Devon and Cornwall Police and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are currently unable to accept emergency phones calls.
In an emergency, call 101 for medical help call 111. A nationwide issue with the BT phone lines means calls can currently not be answered for Devon and Cornwall Police and Devon and Somserset Fire and Rescue Service.
This is an issue affecting all the emergency services in the UK this morning, (June 25). Several police forces and fire and ambulance services said they were facing issues and said BT had reported a “system failure”.
Devon and Cornwall Police say: "BT have reported a system failure in diverting 999 calls. If you need to get hold of us and can’t get through 999 please call 101. For medical help its 111. We will aim to update you as soon as possible."
