An outbuilding that was used for visits to a care home during Covid restrictions has been turned into an art studio for residents.
The studio in the front garden of Fourways Residential Home in Glen Road was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, July 3.
The idea had come from residents who wanted a space for creative activities, and the owner agreed to the conversion.
Manager Linda Grant said she is now looking forward to seeing their artwork.
Residents have also enjoyed an outing to Exmouth, using the beach-accessible wheelchairs that can be hired from Exmouth town council.
The wheelchairs enable people with mobility problems to get out on to the sand and even to float in the sea, with a carer in attendance.
The Exmouth Town Council project was led by Cllr Pauline Stott and the wheelchairs are now being used regularly by local care homes to take residents on seaside trips.
